China Oncology indexed by A Guide to the Core Journal of China(v.2023)

Recently, the 2023 version of the "A Guide to the Core Journal of China (v.2023)" was released by the Library of Peking University (http://hxqk.lib.pku.edu.cn/), and China Oncology was once again indexed. This is the sixth consecutive time that China Oncology has been indexed (2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020, 2023 editions) since the first publication of the "A Guide to the Core Journal of China (v. 1992)".

The"A Guide to the Core Journal of China"  is a research project on the evaluation of Chinese core journals, which was participated by numerous journal editors and related experts from Peking University Library and more than ten university libraries in Beijing. It has been published in 9 editions in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2020, mainly for the evaluation and ordering of Chinese academic journals by the library and information department, and to provide reference for readers.


Before 2008, the "A Guide to the Core Journal of China" was updated for research and publication every 4 years. After 2008, it was changed to update research and publication every 3 years. Each edition continuously adjusts and improves its research methods based on the actual situation at the time, in order to reflect objective reality more scientifically and reasonably in research results. It is a interdisciplinary evaluation method that combines quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative evaluation of core journals adopts the methods of citation quantity (full text, abstracts), citation rates (full text, abstract), citation quantity, citation quantity by other authors, influence factor, influence factor cited by other authors, 5-years influence factor, 5-years influence factor of the articles cited by other authors, characteristic factor, article influence score, article citation index, cross citation index, award-winning or important retrieval tool inclusion. Evaluation indicators such as fund supported articles' ratio (national, provincial and ministerial level), web download volume, and web download rate. On the basis of quantitative evaluation, conduct experts' qualitative evaluation. After quantitative screening and experts' qualitative evaluation, core journals were selected from the published Chinese journals in China.
