Abstract
Spine is the most common organ to be affected by metastatic breast cancer. Spinal metastases of breast cancer are mainly osteolytic and increase the risk of skeletal-related events (SRE)
which dramatically decrease the quality of life. Evidently
there is a subgroup of patients whose tumor is restricted in metastatic capacity and limited in total tumor burden
the so-called “oligometastatic” state. For patients with spinal oligometastases
radiotherapy is more than just palliative analgesic and could be potentially curative. This review detailed the application of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) in spinal metastases of breast cancer.
